Presenter Next Steps

Here are your next steps. Please complete your research and submit either a research poster or PowerPoint presentation with an explanation/narration of your research via VoiceThread that is no longer than five minutes long by April 19th. You will submit your VoiceThread using the link below.

  • You will need to login through umbc.voicethread.com, upload your video, and share to the box.

  • Make sure your  last name, then first name, content area, university affiliation in the title and description.

  • Please ensure everything is set as visible/ public in order for your VT to be seen by others.

Criteria for making your research poster or PowerPoint can be found at this link. You will be notified when the presentations will be available for viewing on April 25th. Please be prepared to respond to comments every day during that week.

Instructions for creating a VoiceThread can be found here. You should have access to the platform through your university and here are some examples for you to view.

Please note that any identifying information, including school and school system names, student names, teacher names, etc. is not permitted. Any poster containing identifying information will not be permitted to be displayed at the symposium. This includes (but is not limited to) photos of schools, children, and classrooms.

Please make sure that the link allows anyone to View and Comment on your presentation.

April 25th-29th–Your presentations will be available for comment and you will be able to view and comment on your peers’ presentations. Please be prepared to log in once a day to answer any questions from your viewers.

Proposal Guidelines

Please describe your inquiry study by providing the following information (200 word limit).

  • State the inquiry topic and/or question.
  • Provide the context of the study, including the type of school, grade level(s), number of P-12 students involved, classroom context, etc. Any identifying information, including school and school system names, student names, teacher names, etc. is not permitted.
  1. Describe your methodology. Include the practices you have or will be implementing and how outcomes were or will be measured.

Final presentations must include a reflection of the impact of the inquiry study on your practice. Instructions for the VoiceThread will be emailed upon notification of proposal acceptance. VoiceThread Presentations will be due by April 20, 2022.

 

Intern Inquiry Symposium AWARDS

  • Teacher candidates may choose (but will not be required) to enter their studies for judging.
  • Guidelines for award selection will be distributed upon proposal acceptance.
  • Candidates must indicate if they wish to enter their studies for awards no later than April 8, 2020.
